New Cable Colours

An amendment to BS7671 (The IEE Wiring Regulations) became effective in April 2006. The amendment specifies new cable core colours for all new fixed wiring in electrical installations in the UK. These changes are designed to bring the UK in line with practice in Europe. Electrical installation work may use either the existing colours or the new colours, but not both!
